TAG LISTS
Start with a blank list or follow a worked example. Only the tag address is required.
These templates accompany the new Add Tags workflow. Use an app version with Add Tags and searchable catalogs. Earlier builds do not support the description column or controller-export catalog import.
THREE SIMPLE STEPS
COLUMN GUIDE
| Column | What to enter |
|---|---|
| tag | Required. Exact address, including any member, index or bit, such as Infeed_Motor.Speed or Reject_Counts[2]. |
| scope | Optional program name, such as MainProgram. Leave empty for controller tags or a full Program:MainProgram.Tag address. |
| label | Your friendly display name. Existing labels stay unless you explicitly choose replacement. |
| units | Display text such as rpm, psi or counts. This does not convert values. |
| notes | Your troubleshooting notes. Spreadsheet CSV export handles quoted commas and line breaks. |
| watchlist | Group name. Enable Keep groups from the file to use it. Repeat an address on another row to place it in another group. |
| description | Searchable source text, kept separate from your display label. |
Choose the original Studio 5000® CSV in Import CSV. LScope reads tag names, program scopes, aliases and tag/member descriptions. Rung comments and other documentation records do not become monitored tags.
The file becomes a searchable catalog with zero tags selected. Search by name or available description, then choose the tags you want. Descriptions come from the file; they are not fetched live from the controller.
Save the catalog to search offline later. A catalog can be out of date, so check the selected addresses against your machine.
File problems include a line number and explanation. Valid rows remain available for review. Unknown table headings can be mapped deliberately. LScope never guesses that the first column of an unrecognized file contains tag addresses.
CSV is for tag lists. Use .lscope for the setup fields supported by your app version. This workbook is an editing aid, not a directly importable file. The examples contain invented addresses and no connection settings or armed alarms.
