LScope
Terms of Use
These terms cover the LScope app from LeRoy Industrial LLC. Your licence to use the app is Apple's standard licence agreement for App Store apps. This page adds what is specific to LScope: the LScope Pro subscription, and how to use the app safely at a machine.
Machine safety. LScope is a diagnostic instrument. It is not a safety device, and it is not part of any machine's safety system.
Never rely on LScope to determine that a machine is safe to approach, enter, or service. Follow your employer's lockout/tagout and energy isolation procedures. A value on screen can be stale, wrong, or read from the wrong controller, and the app cannot always tell. LScope marks readings it could not get as missing or stale and shows the identity of the controller it connected to; check both before interpreting a value.
Connecting can mean working near moving machinery or inside a control panel. Do not open an energized panel unless you are qualified and authorized to, and do not take your device into a hazardous location it is not rated for.
LScope sends only read and connection requests. That reduces the risk of using it. It does not make a running machine safe to stand next to.
Licence
LScope is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA), with LeRoy Industrial LLC as the licensor. The Standard EULA sets out what you may do with the app, the warranty, the limits on liability and the governing law. Nothing on this page replaces it; if this page and the Standard EULA ever differ, the Standard EULA applies.
LScope Pro subscription
LScope is free to download, and the built-in demo machine works with every tool on simulated data without a purchase. Connecting to your own controllers needs LScope Pro, an auto-renewing yearly subscription sold through Apple's App Store. In the United States it is US $59.99 per year; the App Store and the subscription screen in the app show the price in your own currency, plus any applicable tax.
Free trial. New subscribers get a 2-week free trial. The length, end date and price are shown before you start. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it becomes a paid yearly subscription and your Apple Account is charged the yearly price shown.
Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically every year at the then-current price until you cancel. Apple charges your Apple Account within the 24 hours before each renewal.
Cancelling. Cancel any time in Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions, or choose Manage Subscription on LScope's subscription screen. Cancelling stops future renewals. If you cancel after paying, you keep LScope Pro until the end of the year you paid for. If you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged, and LScope Pro can end straight away. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
Refunds and payments. Apple handles payment and refunds under its own policies. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. LeRoy Industrial LLC never receives your payment details.
Price changes. If the price for existing subscribers goes up, Apple tells you before the change and, where Apple requires it, asks you to agree before you are charged the new price. You can cancel before it takes effect.
Without a subscription. The demo machine stays available. Machines, setups and saved records you created stay on your device whether or not you subscribe.
Read-only operation
This version offers read-only diagnostic tools. It has no function to write tags, change controller mode, download programs or make online edits. Like any device on the network, it adds communication traffic. If a future version adds writing, it will say so plainly, and it will not be turned on without you turning it on.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for having permission to connect to the controllers and networks you point LScope at. Many plants treat the control network as restricted, and connecting a personal device to one can be a disciplinary matter regardless of whether the app writes anything. Read-only access does not replace your plant's network, cybersecurity and machine-safety approvals.
You are responsible for interpreting what you see, and for any decision you make from it. Compatibility with any particular controller, firmware revision or network is not guaranteed; confirm reads on your equipment before relying on them.
Beta builds
Pre-release builds distributed through TestFlight are for evaluation. They change, they may break, and they expire. Apple's TestFlight terms apply to them, and if you signed an LScope beta tester agreement, that agreement also applies to your testing.

Stopping
You can stop using LScope at any time by deleting it. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; to stop future charges, cancel as described under LScope Pro subscription.
