Tag-list CSV import and export

Use CSV for curated tag lists, and distinguish them from controller catalogs and full machine setup files.

Find it: Machines > Import Tag List; Export Setup > Export Tag List (CSV)

Choose the right file

A curated tag-list CSV describes the addresses and supported display/alarm fields you want to use. A controller export may contain a much larger catalog. A .lscope file carries supported machine configuration including verification checklists. These formats are not interchangeable.

Use the templates

Download the blank CSV, example CSV or workbook from the Templates page. Keep exact tag paths and required headings. Save spreadsheet edits as CSV when importing. A comma inside a field must be handled by normal CSV quoting; avoid manually splitting records by commas.

Review import results

Choose the file and inspect recognized entries and any skipped records. Fix problematic records in the source file if needed. On the machine's Add Tags screen a controller CSV becomes a searchable catalog first. At the Machines-level import, review whether you are creating a machine or importing into an existing one.

Export a curated list

Export Tag List creates CSV for the tags configured in the machine's groups and supported display/alarm information. Include the address and slot only when appropriate for the recipient. Use Share Tag List after preparing the file. CSV does not transfer verification checklists or the whole saved catalog; use .lscope for those.

Validate on the destination

After importing, check group names, address paths and display fields. Confirm the controller target before connecting. File import success establishes that the format was accepted, not that every tag exists or is readable on the selected controller.
